Preventive Dentistry has been serving Canberra since 1963, when it was established by Dr Noel Egan whose preventive approach to dental care was ahead of its time. He was the first dentist in the ACT to employ a dental hygienist, and was instrumental in the recognition and registration of Dental Hygiene as a profession.
The practice has employed many excellent clinicians over the years, and some have formed their own practices while others have continued on to become dental specialists.
Dr Stephen Lising joined Preventive Dentistry in 1997 and after Dr Egan retired 2 years later, he left his patients in the capable hands of Dr Steve and the team. To this day, Dr Egan and his family continue to visit the practice for their own dental care.
Over the years Preventive Dentistry has grown to keep up with the demand for our services. In 2016 we moved from Turner to Braddon, allowing us to increase the number of treatment rooms and utilise newer technology and equipment, whilst providing our patients and staff with more comfortable surroundings.
A Continued Commitment To Our Patients
Like Dr Egan, most of our patients are with us for the long run. We take great pride in providing excellent dentistry, and going the extra mile to make sure our patients receive personalised long term care.
We are, always have been, and always will be a privately owned dental practice. We have no affiliation with corporate dental groups or health funds. This means the treatment we provide is not dictated by third party policies – an important factor determining the time and quality of care you receive.
Come to Preventive Dentistry to enjoy outstanding facilities, great service and a complete range of dental solutions. Find your new dentist when you book an appointment with us.
