Replacing an old, cracked amalgam filling
Before
This tooth had an old cracked and failing amalgam restoration.
After
The amalgam filling was safely removed under rubber dam and high volume suction. A ceramic onlay was bonded onto the tooth. The onlay provides increased strength and function to the tooth compared to either amalgam or composite resin fillings.
