Implant-supported bridge and crowns
Before
Margaret was missing multiple back teeth and was unable to chew well. She also hated that the gaps were visible when she smiled. This photo shows her mouth after implants have been placed - the metal healing caps can be seen above the gumline.
After
A 2-unit implant-supported bridge, two implant-supported crowns, five crowns and two veneers were placed on her teeth. Margaret now has the confidence to smile and she can eat comfortably.
Damaged teeth replaced, composite resin fillings replaced, and whitening
Before
For Lisa, years of smoking and neglect led to decay, staining and loss of teeth. She was self-conscious about her mouth in general and the way her canine stuck out, so she never smiled with her teeth showing. Lisa wanted to fix her smile for her wedding day.
After
It was explained that the best way to correct the crowding was to straighten Lisa’s teeth using orthodontic braces. Due to time constraints, Lisa was absolutely sure she did not want to do this and instead chose to have both her lateral incisor and canine removed and replaced with a single implant and crown. Lisa also had whitening and her composite resin fillings replaced.
Two implants and crowns for replacing dentures
Before
Ellen had been wearing a denture to replace her missing upper front teeth for years. The metal clasps holding the denture in place could be seen around Ellen’s upper back teeth. She was embarrassed to remove the denture at night because she didn’t want her husband to see her without them, but leaving the denture in constantly was causing damage to her teeth and gums.
After
Two implant-supported crowns were placed to replace the missing teeth. These look and feel like natural teeth and Ellen was glad to be finally rid of her denture.
Colour-matched implant-supported crowns
Before
Walter is an older gentleman whose executive job involves interaction with many clients. His teeth were failing him and did not project the image he wanted to convey to his clients. Several of his teeth were not salvageable and had to be removed.
After
Walter’s teeth were restored with a combination of porcelain fused to gold crowns and implant-supported crowns. The result was a cleaner, healthier-looking mouth with the colour of the teeth being appropriate for his age (not too white). Walter opted not to have some of the existing crowns on his back teeth replaced as they were still functional. The margins of these crowns can be seen due to gum recession which has occurred over the years; however, this is not visible when Walter smiles as his lip covers the area.
