Annika has been a part of the Preventive Dentistry team since 1992, making her our longest standing team member. She has a quiet pleasant nature which allows her to build an easy rapport with her patients.
Annika grew up in Jonkoping, Sweden. She graduated from Dental Hygiene in 1991 at Falun University for Health Professionals. Prior to this, she completed her Dental Assisting course and also studied Social Psychology.
Annika met her partner Dwayne, an Australian, while backpacking in Egypt and in late 1992 she moved to Australia. Her first job in Australia was at Preventive Dentistry, and after an absence she has returned to Preventive Dentistry in a part-time capacity.
A member of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia (DHAA) since 1992, Annika has a wealth of experience working in a number of private general dental practices and orthodontic practices in Canberra.
Annika and Dwayne have two teenage daughters, Klara and Alice. She enjoys spending time with family, travelling, and keeping up an active lifestyle – doing activities like walking, cycling, and yoga. She is also involved in the Swedish community and belongs to a book group and choir.
